Overall, six TCU signees earned state titles.
Ryan Camp, a thrower from Lawrenceville, Georgia, won his second-straight 6A discus title with a distance of 194 feet (59.13 meters). His feat earned him the state meet’s all-classification best performance award, while he topped the next best thrower by about 28 feet. Camp also took home bronze in the shot put as fellow future Frog Isaiah Rogers won the event.
Rogers, a native of Smyrna, Georgia, earned the 6A GHSA shot put state title in record fashion. The No. 4 ranked shot put thrower in the nation lived up to the hype as he broke a 50-year-old meet record with a distance of 67 feet, 10 inches (20.67 meters). The previous record of 66 feet 7 inches was set by Chip Kell, a College Football Hall of Fame inductee, in 1966. Rogers also claimed second in the discus behind Camp.
