TCU still has two remaining events in front of the Big 12 Conference Championships, which is TCU's first tournament played in the state of Texas of the year. This spring, TCU is looking to grab its 27th consecutive NCAA Regionals appearance.
Arantekin, a junior and native of Istanbul, Turkey, was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon after helping lead the TCU women's tennis team to their fifth straight victory and upset of No. 11 Texas Tech this Saturday. This is the first time she has received this honor in her career. She is 7-1 in dual matches and has now won five straight singles matches. With her help securing the win over Texas Tech, TCU has now upset a top-15 ranked opponent for the second straight season.
TCU will play five straight matches at home after being off the rest of this week, playing Louisiana Tech March 29, and then resuming Big 12 play with matches against Kansas on April 1, Kansas State on April 3, Baylor on April 8 and Texas on April 10 at TCU's Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
