TCU Heads to San Diego for Match-Play Event

 The 16 team, 72 hole match-play event will be held at the par 72, 6,211-yard The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif. It will feature 36 holes Monday, 18 Tuesday and 18 Wednesday. Golfstat rankings determined seedings for Monday's opening round. No. 10-seed TCU will face No. 7-seed San Diego State. Second round championship and consolation brackets will be set by opening round results.
TCU's Monday tee times begin at 9:30 a.m. CDT. Live scoring is available at www.BirdieFire.com.
"I am so excited for this great event," TCU women's golf head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. "The girls are fired up and exude confidence coming off two really good tournaments. They are starting to come into their own and face any challenges that may come their way."
In addition to TCU and host San Diego State, the other competing teams are Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Colorado, Delaware, Kansas, Memphis, Oregon, Stanford, Texas State, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA and USC.
TCU will be represented by Annika Clark, Brooke Graebe, Brooke McDougald, Kelly McGovern and Sabina Pena.
The Horned Frogs will look to continue the momentum from their second-place finish out of 17 teams at the Notre Dame Clover Cup in Mesa, Ariz. Graebe was the individual medalist with a 6-under-par 210.
Graebe, ranked 88th nationally, has a team-best 73.7 stroke average. The freshman from Yorba Linda, Calif., has six top-20 finishes in seven tournaments. In addition to her title at the Notre Dame Clover Cup, she has a pair of top-10 results on the year.
McGovern is second on TCU with a 74.3 stroke average while being ranked No. 127 nationally. A junior from The Woodlands, Texas, McGovern has a team-best three sub-70 rounds with two top-10 finishes.
Clark joins Graebe and McGovern as the lone Horned Frogs to play in all seven tournaments this season. Clark, a freshman from Highlands, Texas, is third on TCU with a 75.0 stroke average. She recorded her second top-10 result with a 1-under 215 at the Notre Dame Clover Cup.
Pena has a 76.7 season average in five tournaments, while McDougald will be playing in her second event of the year. She tied for 14th at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational with a 6-over 222.
TCU has three runner-up finishes and six top-10 results in seven tournaments this season. Four different Horned Frogs have top-10 individual finishes.
