Baseball Heads To Rice For Tuesday Night Game

FORT WORTH - TCU will play its first true road game Tuesday night when it heads to Houston to face Rice for the second time this season. Game time at Reckling Park is set for 6:30 p.m.
TCU NOTABLES
• TCU took a 2-1 series victory over USC, wrapping a up a season-long eight-game homestand that saw the Frogs go 6-2.
• TCU slugged five home runs on the weekend to move its season total to 13, a mark that is tied for tops in the Big 12.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE
TCU drew 23 walks in the series against USC over the weekend. On the year, the Frogs have drawn 73 walks, a mark that ranks second in the Big 12. The Frogs are the only team in the Big 12 with an on-base percentage over .400 at .413. That mark ranks 17th nationally. Luken Baker paces the Horned Frogs with 13 free passes followed closely by Evan Skoug's 11 walks.
MAKING AN IMPACT
In Friday's game, Michael Landestoy came off the bench and contributed in a big way. His seventh-inning single drove in what was the eventual game-winning run. He went on to drive in two more runs in the eighth inning.
Over the weekend, Landestoy put together a three-game hitting streak that saw him hit .625 (5-for-8) with five RBIs. Five of his seven RBIs on the season have come in a relief role.
STREAKING
Ryan Merrill enters Tuesday's game carrying a seven-game hitting streak. He is 10-for-24 (.417) over the course of the streak with three multi-hit games. Merrill has collected two doubles and two triples while driving in five runs over that stretch.
MAKING A SPLASH
Josh Watson has burst onto the scene as a legitimate power threat in the middle of the lineup. He leads the team with four home runs after hitting two in the series against USC.
