*Defending Big 12 champion and No. 2 TCU opens its fourth season in the Big 12 when it faces Texas Tech Saturday in Lubbock.

*Since joining the Big 12, TCU is 1-2 versus Texas Tech. Prior to last season's 82-27 win in Fort Worth, the Horned Frogs lost 20-10 in Lubbock in 2013 and 56-53 in triple overtime in Fort Worth in 2012.

FAMILIAR FACES
*Two members of TCU's coaching staff have spent time at Texas Tech.
*TCU co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Sonny Cumbie came to the Horned Frogs after four seasons as an assistant coach at Texas Tech (2010-13).
*Cumbie was the Red Raiders' co-offensive coordinator and outside receivers coach in 2013. He stepped into a play-calling role as interim OC when the Red Raiders totaled 429 yards in a 34-31 win over Minnesota in the 2012 Meineke Car Care Bowl.
*Cumbie became the Red Raiders' starting quarterback as a senior in 2004. He led Texas Tech to an 8-4 record, capping the season by passing for 520 yards and earning Holiday Bowl Most Valuable Player honors in a 45-31 victory over No. 4 California.
*TCU safeties coach Chad Glasgow was Texas Tech's defensive coordinator in 2011. He returned to TCU in 2012 in the same position he held from 2001-10.
*Texas Tech safeties coach Trey Haverty served two stints as an assistant at TCU under head coach Gary Patterson. Haverty was a graduate assistant on defense from 2007-09, before becoming the Horned Frogs' safeties coach in 2011 and then wide receivers coach in 2012.
