CHICAGO -- TCU offensive tackle Tayo Fabuluje was selected Saturday by the Chicago Bears in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
Fabuluje was a second-team All-Big 12 pick. At left tackle, he started all 12 games in which he appeared and was an integral part of a revamped TCU offense that finished second in the nation in scoring (46.5 points per game) and tied for fifth in total offense (533.0 yards per game). The Horned Frogs set single-season school marks for points (604), passing yards (4,240), total yards (6,929), first downs (331) and plays (1,038).
A Euless, Texas, native, Fabuluje was invited to the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Game. He was honorable-mention Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 2012.
With consensus first-team All-America linebacker Paul Dawson going in the third round to Cincinnati, TCU has had at least two players drafted in six of the last seven seasons. Fabuluje is the second Horned Frog in the last four years to be drafted by the Bears. Cornerback and All-America return specialist Greg McCoy was a seventh-round pick in 2012.
Fabuluje is the third TCU offensive tackle in the last six seasons to be drafted, joining Marshall Newhouse (2010, Green Bay Packers) and Marcus Cannon (2011, New England Patriots).
Fabuluje earned his TCU degree in December 2014.
In 14 seasons as TCU's head coach, Gary Patterson has had 36 players drafted with a total of 74 in NFL camps. ESPN.com ranked TCU No. 1 in the nation for developing NFL talent.
