REMEMBER WHEN?
*TCU head coach Gary Patterson's first game on the Horned Frogs' sideline was a 31-21 victory at Iowa State in 1998. Patterson was TCU's defensive coordinator at the time.
*Trevone Boykin's first collegiate start at quarterback came in Iowa State's 2012 visit to Amon G. Carter Stadium. Boykin, a redshirt freshman at the time, spent the majority of the game week taking snaps at tailback in practice before becoming TCU's starting quarterback for the game.
*Boykin had a career-high three rushing touchdowns, including the game-winning 1-yard score with 38 seconds to play, on just five carries in a 21-17 win at Iowa State in 2013.
*Boykin had a career-high 559 yards of total offense (460 passing, 55 receiving, 44 rushing), the second-best single-game total in TCU history, in last year's 55-3 win over Iowa State. He passed for four touchdowns while adding a receiving score.
