ABOUT THE GAME
*Following the second of its two September open dates, TCU returns to action Saturday when it makes the short trek to Dallas to face SMU.
*The Horned Frogs have opened with a 2-0 record for the eighth time in the last 12 seasons.
*TCU is looking to go 3-0 for the seventh time in the last 12 campaigns.
*The Horned Frogs have won nine of their last 10 regular-season games following an open date.
*TCU's Gary Patterson is 10-2 as a head coach versus SMU. As an assistant coach at Navy, New Mexico and TCU, Patterson was 4-2 against the Mustangs.
*TCU is 6-2 in 11 a.m. games the last three seasons.
*SMU is TCU's final non-conference opponent before Big 12 play begins Oct. 4 versus Oklahoma.
*TCU is 25-16 against former Southwest Conference rivals, including a 13-4 mark versus SMU, since the league dissolved after the 1995 campaign.
SERIES NOTES
*The Horned Frogs hold a 46-40-7 edge over the Mustangs in a series that began with a 43-0 TCU win in Fort Worth in 1915.
*TCU has won six of the last seven games with SMU and 12 of the past 14.
*The Horned Frogs are 20-22-2 versus the Mustangs in Dallas and 26-18-5 in Fort Worth.

*Other than the two seasons (1987-88) SMU did not field a team, the 2006 campaign represented the only time TCU and SMU have not met since 1925.
COACH TO CURE MD
*Gary Patterson and the TCU coaching staff will be wearing Coach to Cure MD patches on Saturday to raise awareness and funding for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research. Fans are encouraged to donate online at www.CoachtoCureMD.org or donate $5 by texting CURE to 90999.
