FORT WORTH, Texas -- GoFrogs.com continues its preview of the 2014 TCU football team with a look at the cornerbacks.
With the graduation of two-time All-American Jason Verrett, Kevin White (5-10, 174, Sr.) is now the veteran leader of the unit.
White received honorable-mention All-Big 12 honors from the conference coaches last season. He placed second on TCU with eight pass breakups and three interceptions while posting a team-best three fumble recoveries. He allowed just one touchdown pass on the season.
The 27 career starts by White rank as the most among active Horned Frogs.
Travoskey Garrett (6-1, 190, Jr.) entered fall camp behind White. Garrett played in four games last year after being sidelined his first two seasons due to injury.
Ranthony Texada (5-10, 160, RFr.), who redshirted last season, began fall drills in a No. 1 position opposite White.
Fellow 2013 redshirt Cyd Calvin (6-1, 175, RFr.) was No. 2 on the depth chart behind Texada when spring drills closed.
A pair of true freshmen in Torrance Mosley (5-10, 160, Fr.) and Nick Orr (5-10, 166, Fr.) will look to push for immediate playing time.
Corry O'Meally (6-0, 170, Jr.) also figures prominently in the mix. He was a second-team NJCAA All-American last season at Ellsworth Community in Iowa. The Miami, Fla., native intercepted three passes with a team-best nine pass breakups as a sophomore.
