Six Horned Frogs Earn Academic All-Big 12

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's and women's cross country teams had six student-athletes named to the Academic All-Big 12 Conference teams, the league announced Tuesday.
The first team honorees from the men's team include senior Taylor Moult and sophomore Ryan Dykstra. Sophomore Shane Murray earned second team accolades.
From the women's squad, sophomores Breanne Ball and Miranda Speir and redshirt freshman Arin Rice all garnered first team honors.
To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
The Horned Frogs return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Big 12 Championship at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. The women's 6K race begins at 10 a.m., with the men's 8k following at 11 a.m.
