TCU Moderator: Welcome to today's online chat with Chris Del Conte. |
| Ryan (Houston): After the DMC renovation is done with the new Hall of Fame what is going to happen to the JJAC lobby area? How about making it the recruit hub where there are permanent displays of the football uniforms and options as well as in depth history of TCU football, such as have a mannequin wearing the eras uniform while the wall gives a synopsis of the era. |
Chris Del Conte: Ryan: Do you work for the NSA or do you have a wire tap into my office? Your idea is exactly what we're looking to incorporate within the JJAC. |
| Al Beck - Fort Worth: Any thoughts of expanding into other sports; like mens soccer or wrestling? |
Chris Del Conte: We're definitely looking to expand our women's athletics programs but have no plans to add any men's sports. |
| Carol (Aledo): Merry Christmas, CDC! What's your plan for the holiday break?
Also, I'm dying to hear you sing "Volare". Any Dean Martin impersonations in your bag of goodies? |
Chris Del Conte: Merry Christmas to you as well! My family and I will be sticking around for the holidays. Unfortunately, my bag of goodies does not include any members of the rat pack. |
| Chris (Sacramento): How involved have you been with the new coaching hires in the football program? |
Chris Del Conte: When any head coach is hiring an assistant, I act as a sounding board to bounce ideas back and forth. Ultimately, all decisions are made by the head coach. |
| gary Yeager (Aledo): What's the next big fundraising project after the DMC? |
Chris Del Conte: We have Phase 2 of our Lupton Stadium project and improvements to our track and field and rifle facilities. |
| Jesse (Arlington): I loved bringing my children to the TCU volleyball games this past year. It was such a great experience and a great atmosphere for volleyball. I would love to see more seating in that great gym. Are there any upgrades planned for the future? |
Chris Del Conte: Thank you for recognizing the efforts of our volleyball program and marketing department. I do believe we have the best atmosphere in the Big 12. Due to the multi-purpose use of the Rec Center, it is not possible to expand seating in the gym. |
| Darryl (Forth Worth): We have some nice wins in men's basketball so far. How excited are you about our chances this year? |
Chris Del Conte: We are off to a great start and have a challenge ahead of us as the Big 12 is the top league in the country in RPI. I do like the direction in which Trent Johnson has our program headed. Our women's team is off to a great start as well. |
| David (San Diego): Just saw the announcement of the new football coach. Congrats on another great hire. Do we see any more coaches being added in the future? What other changes should we expect from the football team this offseason? |
Chris Del Conte: We are very excited about the addition of Doug Meacham and Sonny Cumbie. Big things are in store for our football program next year. We can all look forward to it. At this point in time, I don't anticipate any other changes. |
| Wally (Aledo): Will you go see Anchorman? |
Chris Del Conte: Count on it! I'm Chris Del Conte? |
| Bert Thompson (Euless): Is there a next to-do list for our football stadium or is it all set with everything? |
Chris Del Conte: We're set with Amon G. Carter Stadium for now. Our next big project is to complete Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. |
| hank (Midland, Texas): I'm sure you are proud of all TCU graduates, but especially Casey Pachall? |
Chris Del Conte: You're right. I'm proud of all our graduates and especially pleased to see Casey Pachall receive his degree this past weekend. I'm very proud of that young man. |
| Cleburne: What's the top thing you sell people on when you talk about TCU? |
Chris Del Conte: The culture. Any student who has an opportunity to come on this campus for four years will leave here a better person than when he or she arrived. |
| Keith (Fort Worth): While looking at AGCS one game, I noticed a broad band of concrete between the upper and lower bowls that would be perfect for a TCU "Ring of Honor". . . any chance of that happening? |
Chris Del Conte: Yes. A Ring of Honor will happen. We're in the process of determining criteria. |
| Kyle (Plano): Just read an article detailing revenue/profit of college football teams. TCU is in the top 5 in terms of expenses. Thoughts on that?, do you see revenue &/or profit increasing in years to come? |
Chris Del Conte: I do anticipate our revenue increasing with our membership in the Big 12. |
| Jason (Fort Worth): What's your favorite Christmas Movie and what's your favorite quote from that movie? |
Chris Del Conte: Christmas Vacation. Decorum prohibits listing my favorite quote from that movie, but I'm sure you can imagine it's from Cousin Eddie. |
| Jay (LA): Any plans for new uniforms? |
Chris Del Conte: You never know. We can't reveal all our secrets. |
| Clark Griswald (Chicago): What is your favorite Christmas movie? |
Chris Del Conte: Clark: Did you get distracted by Rusty? We just answered that question. Hope you got your Christmas bonus! |
| Jerry (Dallas): Welcome to twitter, @_delconte! Are you enjoying engaging with the masses via 140 characters? |
Chris Del Conte: I'm still trying to figure it out, but Coach Patterson has given me some good tips about Earth Pics. |
TCU Moderator: That concludes today's chat with Chris Del Conte. Thanks for joining us. |
