IRVING, Texas -- TCU linebacker Joel Hasley has been named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for his play in the Horned Frogs' 20-6 victory at Kansas.
A sophomore from Aledo, Texas, Hasley totaled a career-high 12 tackles (eight solo), including two sacks.
Hasley, making just his second collegiate start, was instrumental in the Horned Frogs limiting the Jayhawks to two field goals, extending TCU's streak to nine consecutive quarters without allowing a touchdown. TCU also held Kansas to a 2-of-13 mark on third-down conversions.
Hasley has a team-high 17 stops in the Horned Frogs' opening two games, nearly doubling his career total of nine tackles entering the season.
