Silmon Helps United States Claim Gold Medal Honors

GUANAJUATO, Mexico - TCU senior Charles Silmon helped the United States earn a gold medal Sunday at the 2012 North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships.
With Silmon running the second leg, the men's 4x100 quartet clocked a time of 38.94 seconds to place first overall at Paralympic Track Stadium. Overall, 32 nations from North America, Central America and the Caribbean were represented at the three-day meet.
Earlier this weekend, the Waco native garnered a bronze medal in the men's 100 meters. Silmon, who posted the fastest preliminary time of 10.19 seconds, crossed the finish line in third-place with a time of 10.17 seconds.
