
O'Brien Named Capital One Academic All-District Thursday

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior Jack O'Brien was named first team Capital One Academic All-District Thursday afternoon as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
O'Brien closed his career earning All-Mountain West honors in the men's 800 meters after placing third overall at the 2012 Mountain West Championships. He will leave Fort Worth as a two-time NCAA Championship quarterfinal participant and multiple Academic All-Mountain West selection.
O'Brien, who earned USTFCCCA Academic All-America and MWC Scholar-Athlete accolades a year ago, posted the highest MCAT score in TCU history during the 2011-12 school year. He was recently named the recipient of Dutch Meyer Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award, which is the highest academic honor a TCU student-athlete can receive.
TCU will next be in action at the NCAA Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa on June 6-9.
