FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU Hunt Seat head coach Logan Fiorentino announced the addition of Nicole Diamantis to her signing class for the upcoming 2012-13 school year Tuesday afternoon.
"I'm thrilled that Nikki has signed with TCU," said Fiorentino. "She has been riding incredibly well the past several months and I'm looking forward to her starting with us in the fall. She is bright, talented and enthusiastic, which are all of the qualities we look for in our equestrian student-athletes."
Diamantis, who hails from Maclay High School in Tallahassee, Fla., recently garnered sixth-place accolades at the 2012 Taylor Harris Finals. She also claimed 12th-place honors at the prestigious 2012 New England Finals, while recording top-ribbon honors in Equitation at the 2012 HITS Ocala. Diamantis, who is currently ranked No. 14 in the Washington Equitation East Coast standings and qualified for the 2011 Maclay Regionals and Hunterdon Cup, received the 2008 SHJA Horsemanship of the Year award. She currently competes in the ASPCA Maclay, USEF Medal, USET and WIHS.
TCU closed its 2011-12 season in Western with a 6-11 record, while the Hunt Seat squad ended 6-6-2 overall. In all, the Western squad defeated No. 6 Kansas State and No. 7 Baylor en route to a sixth-place finish at nationals and were the only double-digit seed to advance to the final day of competition in Waco.
