
Sprinter Silmon Earns Mountain West Weekly Honors

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU junior sprinter Charles Silmon has been selected as the Mountain West Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
A product of Waco, Texas, Silmon earned first-place honors in the men's 60-meter race at last weekend's Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., clocking a time of 6.71 to claim the individual title. The victory was the second in as many meets for Silmon, who claimed the 60-meter title at the Texas 10-Team Invitational in College Station, Texas on Jan. 14.
The honor is the second for Silmon this season and the third overall for TCU.
TCU will resume the indoor season Texas A&M Invitational, Feb. 11, in College Station, Texas.
