Frogs Finish Strong at Golfweek Conference Challenge

EDWARDS, Colo. -- Sanna Nuutinen and Rachel Raastad carded final-round 72s to lead No. 22 TCU to an eighth-place finish after Wednesday's final round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Edwards, Colo.
The Horned Frogs' 295, in windy conditions, was the second-best score on the day in the 18-team field.
Nuutinen had a team-best five birdies Wednesday in tying for 11th place individually with a 9-over-par 225. The sophomore from Helsinki, Finland, dropped her score by three strokes each round after an opening-day 78.
Raastad shot par on 14 of 18 holes. She tied for 34th with a 231.
Brooke Beeler recorded four birdies in a six-hole stretch on the back nine to finish with a 73 for TCU. Her 229 total tied for 27th.
Horned Frog freshmen April McCoy and Alexandra Bonetti shot a final round 78 and 79, respectively.
With a 913, TCU finished 14 strokes behind team champion Oklahoma. The Sooners' Chirapat Jao-Javanil took medalist honors with a 1 over 217.
TCU returns to action Sunday at the Branch Law Firm Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
