FORT WORTH - TCU swimming and diving coach Richard Sybesma announced his 2011-12 schedule, highlighted with a trip to South Bend, Ind., on Oct. 14 and 15.
The Horned Frogs open the 2011-12 slate with a 5 p.m., visit to the TCU University Recreation Center Natatorium from Centenary College (La.) on Oct. 7. Last year's meet with Centenary College was canceled due to inclement weather.
Both the men and women's squads travel to South Bend, Ind., on Oct. 14 and 15. The teams will take part in the Notre Dame Relays on Oct. 14, before taking on perennial power Michigan, Notre Dame and Oakland in a dual-meet Oct. 15.
The TCU women host New Mexico State on Oct. 21 in advance of the annual Varsity Alumni meet the following morning.
Rice visits the URC on Nov. 4 for a dual-meet with the TCU women before both teams are in action against Wyoming on Nov. 5 for the last meet of 2011 at the URC. The women will face Wyoming in Mountain West Conference action, while the men's meet will be a nonconference affair. The MWC is not sponsoring men's swimming this season.
The Frogs travel to New Brunswick, N.J., to face Rutgers, Seton Hall and St. Peters on Nov. 11 and 12 for their last dual-meets of 2011. The U.S. Long Course Nationals in Atlanta, the UT Invitational in Austin, Texas, and the San Antonio Classic (all championship-style events) round out the 2011 portion of the schedule.
Both squads get back to action in 2012 for a Jan. 6 clash with San Diego State and San Diego on the west coast. The TCU men host SMU on Jan. 19, the women travel to North Texas on Jan. 20 and the TCU women welcome SMU on Jan. 25.
The men are set to attend the Conference USA Invitational on Feb. 15-18, while the women travel to Oklahoma City for the MWC Championships on Feb. 22-25. The U.S. Short Course National Championships are March 2 and 3 in Austin.
