Former TCU safety Colin Jones has been taken in the sixth round by the San Francisco 49ers, giving the Horned Frogs four selections in the 2011 National Football League Draft.
Jones was All-Mountain West Conference as a senior, placing second on TCU's Rose Bowl championship squad in both tackles (80) and tackles for loss (11 1/2). He added three sacks, four pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown at UNLV in addition to recording nine stops in the game.
Jones recorded a career-high 10 tackles, including a sack, in TCU's 21-19 Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin. He posted eight solo stops, including a pair of sacks, in a victory over San Diego State. He also totaled 3 1/2 tackles for loss as part of seven stops in a 27-0 win at Colorado State.
