FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU track and field program will look to carry the momentum from Texas Relays into a pair of meets this weekend, splitting up to travel to both United States' coasts. Most of the Horned Frogs will compete at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational on the campus of the University of Florida, while senior Festus Kigen will take part in the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif.
Kigen will kick-off this weekend's action for the Frogs, running the men's 5,000 meters at the Mt. Sac Relays Friday night. As a junior in 2010, the Kenya native posted the second-fastest 5K time ever in TCU history at the Mt. SAC Relays, clocking in at 13:52.06.
TCU will battle a strong field at the Tom Jones Memorial Invite, taking on host Florida, Texas A&M, Navy, Princeton, Nebraska, Eastern Michigan, Central Florida, Florida A&M, Tampa and Florida Atlantic (women only). The one-day meet begins Saturday with the hammer throw from the field and the 4x100 relay on the oval.

YOUNG TABBED FOR MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE WEEKLY HONORS
TCU senior sprinter Jessica Young was selected as the Mountain West Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
A product of Columbia, S.C., Young paced TCU's women's team at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays last weekend in Austin, Texas. Young finished first among collegiate runners (third overall) in the 100-meter race, clocking a winded-aided time of 11.12 in the event. That mark ranks second all-time in MWC history and ranks first in the league and sixth in the country this season.
In relay action, Young ran the final leg for TCU's 4x100-meter relay team, helping the quartet notch a second-place (first among collegiate teams) time of 44.49 seconds. That time is first in the conference and 20th in the NCAA in 2011. She was also a member of the Horned Frogs' 4x400-meter relay team, which finished fifth overall with a time of 3:34.87. That mark, which is fifth all-time in league history and currently ranks first in the MWC and seventh in the nation this spring.
The league honor is the second honor in three weeks for Young after earning the award twice during the indoor schedule. Her first outdoor recognition came after snapping the TCU and Arizona State Invitational meet record in the 400 meters.
