ONE YEAR ONLY
With season ticket and parking renewal information hopefully now in everyone's hands, please let me remind you that this is for one year only - just the 2011 season. All seats for the 2012 campaign will be based on your rank in the Horned Frog Priority Points System.
KEY POINTS
Thanks to our passionate fan base, the response on the football season ticket renewals has been overwhelming. From the outset, our primary focus through the renovation of Amon G. Carter Stadium was to play our 2011 home schedule on campus. We will be able to accomplish that goal while also enhancing our season-ticket package with a great value on the Oct. 28 BYU game at Cowboys Stadium. It's basically half the cost of last year's Oregon State contest. Club seats are available for just $65. The only increase in our season tickets is due to BYU being added as a seventh game.
RELOCATION REMINDER
Those who were relocated from the west side upper deck to the new north end zone upper deck were kept in their same price range. If you're interested in upgrading to a seat between the end zones on the east stands, please contact our athletics ticket office at (817) 257-3764 (FROG) or visit them in the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
NOTE THE DEADLINE
Please make special note of the May 15 deadline to renew your season tickets. Never before has this deadline been more important. With limited seating this fall, your response is critical. The May 15 renewal deadline will be strictly enforced to accommodate an expected long waiting list. The best way to guarantee your seat in 2012 is to buy season tickets in 2011.
CLUB SEATS PROVIDE GREAT VALUE
There has been terrific interest in the 2,300 club seats we'll have in 2012. Club seat prices are $3,000, $2,000, $1,500 and $1,000. They are a tremendous value. For example, let's look at a club seat gift of $1,500. If you take out food, beverage and tickets, the gift amount is $1,000. Eighty percent, or $800, of that $1,000 is tax deductible. You can make a $500 per seat down payment by May 15 to request seats. At that time, through our Horned Frog Priority Points System, we will rank all those who made the down payments. That ranking will determine the order of seat selection to be done at a later date.
SUITES REMAIN
We also have three suites still available on the west side of Amon G. Carter Stadium. Please contact TCU associate athletics director Davis Babb (d.babb@tcu.edu or 817-257-5658) with any questions.
SPRING SALE
Our very popular annual Spring Sale will again be held the same day, April 2, as the Spring Game. We'll start at 8 a.m. and the new location will be the Kelly Alumni and Visitors Center. The Spring Sale will last until the end of the Spring Game. Items available will include football, baseball and basketball jerseys, shoes, polo shirts, t-shirts, etc.
SPRING WEEKEND
Our April 2 Spring Game will indeed take place in Amon G. Carter Stadium. All fans attending will be seated in the east stands. In addition to our Spring Sale, we'll have Frog Alley open beforehand with inflatable games for the kids. We'll keep you posted with more information, including the official start time for all the festivities. The day will also include home contests for our women's tennis and baseball teams. Women's tennis hosts Utah at 10 a.m., while first pitch for baseball is at 4 p.m. versus Air Force.
HARD HATS KEEPING BUSY
Work continues on the north end zone of Amon G. Carter Stadium as well as the northwest corner, which is the service and visiting team areas. One crew is working from the north, while the other crew works from the south to meet in the middle of the west side. Currently, the primary work all along the west side centers on the framing of the second level concrete decking and remaining pier work. Piers went in yesterday at the weight room project with the foundation and decks starting next week. This project will soon "go vertical" and start showing more signs of progress. Much of the construction time to date has been spent on the infrastructure related to pipes and electrical conduits.
TRACK AND FIELD FEVER
We hope you were part of the nearly 5,000 fans at the Lowdon Track and Field Complex last weekend. We recorded 11 first-place finishes in Friday's college division. We were also honored Olympic gold medalists Jeremy Wariner and Sanya Richards chose the TCU Invitational to showcase their talents.
ON THE HOME DOCKET
We host a great baseball series this weekend as the University of Houston comes to town. First pitch Friday is at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's game time is 2 p.m. with Sunday's Kids' Day at 1 p.m. We're in the midst of a season-long 13-game homestand. Lupton Stadium has proven to be a great gathering place for the TCU and Fort Worth communities this spring, helping us rank among the nation's leaders in home attendance at nearly 4,500 per game. We also have our final home equestrian contest Saturday versus Oklahoma State.
PATIO AVAILABLE
We have a right field patio available for the Tuesday, April 5, 6:30 p.m. home game versus UT-Pan American. The cost is $500 and includes 20 tickets. If you are interested, please contact director of athletics marketing Jason Byrne at j.byrne@tcu.edu or (817) 257-7969.
TIME FOR NATIONALS
Best wishes to Edgar Crespo as he heads to Minneapolis this weekend to represent TCU at the NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championship. Edgar will be competing in the 100- and 200-breaststroke.
COODY CLASSIC NEARING
Please mark your calendar for the 14th-annual Charles Coody Classic on Tuesday, April 22. Sponsorships and playing spots are still available for this special day with 1971 Masters champion and TCU alum Charles Coody. Information and online registration can be found at www.tcufrogclub.com.
