Frogs Finish Eighth in Puerto Rico

RIO GRANDE, P.R. -- The 30th-ranked TCU women's golf team finished eighth as play concluded Tuesday at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic.
TCU recorded a top-10 finish for the 15th time in its last 16 tournaments.
The Horned Frogs shot a final-round 305, lowering their score by six strokes from Monday's second round. TCU finished with a 919.
Top-ranked Alabama won the event for the second straight year with an 875, five strokes ahead of No. 27 Iowa State.
Brooke Beeler led TCU with a 74 Tuesday, her best round of the tournament.
Rachel Raastad added a 75 for the Horned Frogs. The junior from Asker, Norway, was the top finisher for TCU, tying for 16th with a 9-over-par 225. It was Raastad's fourth straight top-20 result.
Melissa Loh, the lone senior in TCU's lineup, tied for 20th with a 226. Loh has three top-20 efforts in her last four tournaments.
Only three individuals shot below par. Alabama's Stephanie Meadow took medalist honors with a 4-under 212, one shot better than Florida State's Maria Salinas.
TCU will return to action Monday at the Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla.
