
Elander Tabbed Preseason All-American

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU baseball junior catcher Josh Elander was tabbed a second-team preseason All-American by the NCBWA.
Elander had a solid sophomore campaign en route to earning second-team all-Mountain West honors. He hit .333 in 48 games with 11 doubles, two triples and five home runs. Elander drove in 38 runs and was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen bases.
His strong performance in the field garnered him a spot on the Collegiate National Team's 22-man roster over the summer. Serving as the primary catcher for the squad, Elander posted the top batting average on the squad, hitting .327 in 14 games. Of his 16 total hits, the junior tied for the team lead with five doubles and led the squad with two triples. He tallied seven RBIs and stole two bases while playing perfect defense.
The 2012 campaign gets underway on Feb. 17 when the Horned Frogs play host to Ole Miss. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
