PACKED HOUSE FOR THE SENIORS
While the win at Boise State was indeed a great day to be a Horned Frog, let's not forget that we still have two home games left. It's very important that we have packed houses for our seniors. We host Colorado State Saturday at 2:30 p.m. We need you to be in your seats early and to be loud as our seniors go for their 45th win, which would make them the winningest class in TCU football history. We should have a great day for football with temperatures in the 70s. As good as the win at Boise State was, and we appreciate seeing all the purple in the stands amidst the blue and orange, we're playing for a Mountain West championship right now.
WELCOME HOME
I can't thank you enough for the warm reception you showed our football program when they returned to campus late Saturday night from Boise. The student-athletes, coaches and support units in our football program truly appreciated seeing you when the team buses pulled into the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum lot. It was a topic of conversation among our student-athletes. Thank you for making the effort to be there for them.
NATIONAL RECOGNITION
It was nice to see our win at Boise State noticed by others. The Football Writers Association of America named the Horned Frogs as the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week, while quarterback Casey Pachall received a multitude of accolades, including Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week and the below photo of him receiving a Helmet Sticker from ESPN's Mark May.
BOWL GAME UPDATE
I receive a lot of questions about our possible bowl destination. As a reminder, the Mountain West has tie-ins with the Las Vegas Bowl, Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego, Independence Bowl in Shreveport and the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. Making a BCS game for a third straight year is also still a possibility. Plenty of options exist, and we've been in touch with a lot of key folks on where the Horned Frogs could land. For now, let's just hope for a strong finish and a Mountain West championship. Keep an eye out for information soon on the ability to purchase bowl tickets.
ON THE DOCKET
After a contest tomorrow night at SMU, our women's basketball program has a Sunday 1 p.m. home date against North Carolina State. Our men's team departed today for the Virgin Islands. We'll begin tournament play Friday at 5 p.m. versus Virginia. Volleyball heads to Albuquerque for the Mountain West Tournament, while rifle takes its 24-match win streak to West Point to face Army. Cross country standout Agnes Kemboi will represent TCU Monday at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind.

COMPLIANCE CORNER
Here are some key rules to remember:
1. Only TCU coaches and athletic department staff members are permitted to be involved in the recruiting process. Alumni, friends and other representatives of athletics interest who are not employed by the University are not permitted to contact a prospective student-athlete (or members of his/her family) via letter, telephone or in-person (on or off-campus) for the purpose of soliciting their participation in our athletics program. For recruiting purposes, TCU faculty members are permitted to engage in in-person contact with prospects, but only on the University campus.
2. A prospective student-athlete remains a prospect even after he/she signs a National Letter of intent or financial aid agreement to attend the University. The prospect does not lose his/her prospect status until the start of classes at TCU or the beginning of official team practice, whichever occurs first.
3. Do not do anything for a prospective student-athlete or a current student-athlete without specific authorization from the TCU Athletics Department.
4. The prohibition of contact with a prospective student-athlete is not intended to relate to unavoidable incidental contacts with prospects by representatives of athletics interests. It is understood that a representative of athletics interests may from time to time have contact with a prospective student-athlete and/or their family members. Such contact is permissible so long as it involves normal civility. For instance, if you meet a prospective student-athlete during your normal course of business or social activity, there is no violation so long as you do not discuss TCU athletics. If you are attending an alumni event or athletics event and you find yourself speaking with the parents of a prospect, do not discuss the athletics program and excuse yourself from the discussion in an appropriate manner.
5. If a student-athlete accepts any extra-benefits based on his/her status as an athlete or because of athletics ability, the student-athlete will lose all eligibility for participation in intercollegiate athletics.
6. Representatives of athletics interests are reminded that the NCAA rules regarding student-athletes remain in effect throughout the entire calendar year, including the summer vacation period.
As always, ask before you act. If you have any questions, please contact our NCAA Compliance office at (817) 257-7525.
