Beard Earns Bronze At Pan Am Games

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU junior rifle team member Sarah Beard earned a Bronze medal in the Women's 50m Rifle Three Position at the Pan Am Games this past week in Guadalajara, Mexico. The medal is her first-ever in an open event.
Beard shot 571 match points and 96.4 points in the final for 667.4 total points. She entered the finals tied with Cuba's Eglys Yahima de la Cruz for second place. De la Cruz edged Beard after shooting a 99.3 in the finals. Beard's preliminary round saw her fire 20 center shots en route to her total of 571.
The rifle team is next in action on Nov. 1 when they host Alaska-Fairbanks.
