FORT WORTH, Texas - Fresh off its first-ever appearance in the College World Series and a preseason No. 1 ranking, the TCU baseball season is just around the corner. Season tickets are now on sale. Current season ticket holders have until Jan. 28 to renew their tickets.
"The 2011 schedule represents the most number of home games we have had during my time at TCU," remarked head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "Last year, a TCU Baseball game was voted as one of the best entertainment options in Fort Worth by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine. I really trust that all TCU fans will continue to build on our Rose Bowl win in football by investing in season tickets for the 2011 baseball season. Buying season tickets and filling the stadium with your attendance is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to support our program and student-athletes."
The stadium is undergoing a minor renovation that will see the addition of 1,000 more seats to the upperdeck. The addition will feature more chair back seating and an expanded student section.
TCU returns 19 members from last season's historic run through the postseason. Included in that total are four preseason All-Americans in Matt Purke, Steven Maxwell, Kyle Winkler and Jason Coats. All-conference performers Taylor Featherston, Jerome Pena and Brance Rivera also return to anchor a solid lineup. In addition, the Frogs welcome 11 new faces to the program in 2011.
The 2011 schedule features 33 games. The Frogs will welcome non-conference opponents such as Kansas (Feb. 18-20), Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 25-27), Houston (March 25-27), Oklahoma (April 26) and Baylor (May 10). The conference slate will see Air Force (April 1-3), New Mexico (April 8-10), UNLV (April 21-23) and Utah (May 13-15) head to Fort Worth in 2011.
