
Trio Of Frogs Named To CWS All-Tournament Team

OMAHA, Neb. - A trio of TCU Horned Frogs were named to the 2010 College World Series All-Tournament team for their performance in the CWS. Bryan Holaday, Taylor Featherston and Matt Purke were part of the 11-man team. The Frogs posted a 3-2 record in their first-ever trip to the College World Series.
Holaday led the Frogs with a .409 average in the World Series and clubbed a tournament-high four home runs as part of nine hits in Omaha. He drove in five runs and scored eight runs for the Frogs.
Featherston paced the Frogs with a team-high seven RBIs in the tournament. He batted .333 with five hits, including a double, a triple and a home run. The sophomore also tallied the Frogs' lone stolen base in the tournament and played flawless defense in 19 chances at shortstop.
Purke was one of two pitchers named to the all-tournament squad. He was 2-0 in his two starts with a miniscule 1.35 ERA. He 13 1/3 innings pitched, the freshman fanned nine and held opponents to a .152 batting average.
TCU wrapped up its most successful campaign in school history with a 54-14 record. The 54 victories are tied for the second-most in Division I with the 2010 National Champions, South Carolina. The Frogs were one of just nine schools to total at least 50 wins in 2010.
