FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU football coach Gary Patterson has announced that the fifth-annual Gary Patterson Foundation Benefit Reception & Auction on July 13 at Joe T. Garcia's Mexican Restaurant in Fort Worth has sold out.
It's the third consecutive year the event is a sellout. It serves as the primary fundraiser for the Foundation.
Major sponsors include Joe T. Garcia's, Fort Worth, Texas magazine and National Republic Distributing, as well as countless friends and supporters participating through the purchase of table sponsorships, individual tickets or auction items.
With the funds raised at the event, the Foundation supports youth organizations across Tarrant County. In 2009, grants from the Foundation benefitted children with disabilities and provided playground equipment for schools. Funds were also used for workshops and seminars on the importance of education and staying in school.
"There are many people in our community who do an outstanding job working with underprivileged kids," Patterson said. "Our Foundation helps those people succeed."
"The Gary Patterson Foundation has been committed to helping children in our area for several years now, and each year we are able to do more," said Kelsey Patterson, Foundation secretary and treasurer. "We aim to provide children with opportunities that they may not otherwise experience. These opportunities can have a lasting and positive impact on the kids for the rest of their lives."
