Dungey had a solid outing this past weekend as he clipped Silmon at the line in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 20.64 seconds to win his second-consecutive conference title. Dungey's time is the second-fastest time ever recorded in MWC Championship history and the third-best all-time in league history. The junior was also strong in the 100 meters, clocking a seasonal-best time of 10.38 seconds to finish third overall. He also helped both relays cross the finish line in first and second-place, respectively, to garner all-conference recognition.
Silmon had a dominating weekend as he not only captured the event-title in the 100 meters, but also turned in a runner-up performance in the 200 meters. In the 100 meters, the freshman blazed to a personal-best time of 10.24 seconds to capture his first conference title of his young career and earn all-conference recognition. By winning the 100 meters, Silmon was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Most Outstanding Performer. He came back later in the day to finish second overall in the 200 meters. In the event, Silmon earned runner-up accolades with a personal-best time of 20.65 seconds.
Pitts made conference history on Saturday becoming the first student-athlete in MWC history to claim three-straight 110-meter hurdle titles. The junior, who also placed third in the 400-meter hurdles, crossed the finish line in 14.18 seconds to win his third-consecutive conference title.
