TCU Finishes Second At Tiger/Wave Classic

NEW ORLEANS -- Melissa Loh and Rachel Raastad carded a final round 71 and 72, respectively, Sunday to lead TCU to a second-place finish at the Tiger/Wave Classic.
The 27th-ranked Horned Frogs were 6-under par on the front nine Sunday and trailed No. 2 Auburn by just one stroke after the opening 12 holes. The Tigers then posted eight birdies and an eagle over the final six holes to secure the win.
Auburn finished at 889 with TCU at 896. No. 7 Alabama was third at 897. The Horned Frogs dropped their score each round, culminating with a 293 Sunday.
TCU defeated eight teams ranked higher as it posted its second straight runner-up finish and seventh consecutive top-10 result.
Loh birdied two of her opening four holes en route to a tie for 15th at 224. It was her third top-15 finish in the last four tournaments.
Raastad was 1 under for the final 36 holes and TCU's top finisher, tying for sixth. The Asker, Norway, native recorded her fourth top-10 effort in seven events.
Brooke Beeler and Louise Kristersson added final-round 75s for TCU. Kristersson, a freshman from Skivarp, Sweden, tied for 20th for the best finish in her four-tournament career.
LSU's Megan McChrystal took medalist honors with a 3-under 213, one shot ahead of Virginia's Calle Nielson.
The Horned Frogs return to action March 26-28 at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin.
