
TCU Surges Into Third at Tiger/Wave Classic

NEW ORLEANS -- Rachel Raastad's 71 led a TCU surge into third place after Saturday's second round of the Tiger/Wave Classic in New Orleans.
Playing through high winds, the 27th-ranked Horned Frogs shot a 298, the second-lowest score on the day, and are just two strokes behind co-leaders No. 2 Auburn and No. 20 LSU.
TCU is ahead of seven teams ranked higher, including three in the top 10.
Raastad's 1-under-par lowered her score by seven strokes from Friday's opening round. The sophomore from Asker, Norway, is tied for eighth, five shots off the pace of 144 by Auburn's Cydney Clanton and LSU's Megan McChrystal.
Raastad birdied three of her opening eight holes and finished with four birdies on the day.
Horned Frog freshman Louise Kristersson is tied for 10th at 150.
Melissa Loh had a stretch of five birdies, including three in a row, over 10 holes en route to a 73. The five birdies were a team best on Saturday. She is tied for 21st at 153.
Valentine Derrey, the lone senior in TCU's lineup, added a 76.
