FORT WORTH, Texas - The No. 27 TCU women's tennis team will take on former Southwest Conference foe No. 18 Arkansas Sunday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The match will be played indoors due to inclement weather with first serve set at Noon. The TCU indoor complex is located southeast of the center's pro shop.
The Horned Frogs (1-3) will look to rebound after dropping back-to-back matches to Stanford and SMU. Sunday's match will serve as the final home event for TCU in February, as the squad travels to Michigan, Alabama and Auburn to wrap-up the month. Junior Katariina Tuohimaa entered the Campbell's/ITA Women's Singles rankings this week, earning a spot at No. 56 in the country, after picking up a pair of big wins to start the season.
Arkansas (6-2) comes into Fort Worth after dropping a close 4-3 decision to Rice Saturday. The Razorbacks are led by No. 62 Anouk Tigu, boasting a 5-2 record, highlighted by a big win over No. 14 Venise Chan from Washington on Jan. 29. Arkansas has been inside the top-20 all season and picked up a win over a Mountain West Conference opponent in Utah on Feb. 7.
TCU currently holds an 8-5 advantage over Arkansas in the all-time series, including a six match winning streak from 1984-89. The Razorbacks were responsible for ending the Frogs' 2009 campaign, upending the Purple and White in the second round of the NCAA Championships with a 4-3 decision last May. TCU is 4-1 against Arkansas at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
