LOS ANGELES - The third-ranked TCU football team continued the pageantry of the 97th Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO by taking part in the 55th Annual Lawry's Beef Bowl on Monday evening at Lawry's The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The legendary steakhouse treated players, coaches and support staff to a prime rib dinner. ESPN college football analyst and Beef Bowl alum Ed Cunningham served as emcee for the evening.
Horned Frog quarterback Andy Dalton, with the help of Lawry's employees, cut the ceremonial first piece of beef.
The Lawry's Beef Bowl has been a staple of the Rose Bowl Game since 1956 and is older than all but five of the current 35 bowl games in the college football bowl system.
In the morning, the Frogs took a tour of the Rose Bowl facilities and playing field. It was the first look at the venue for much of the TCU team.
After taking Monday off, TCU will return to the practice field Tuesday morning for game-week preparations. Defensive coordinator Dick Bumpas and selected players will meet with members of the media before practice.
