
TCU Hits Road For Non-Conference Tilt

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will take a break from conference play when they head south for a non-conference tilt at Prairie View A&M Tuesday night. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
TCU NOTABLES
A nasty flu swept through the team over the weekend, but the Frogs fought hard at UNLV, only to come up short in a 3-2 loss.
The Frogs fell to 1-5 in matches that go the distance this season.
The Frogs did tally a road victory at Air Force, handing the Falcons a 3-0 loss.
Christy Hudson became the first Horned Frog to notch her second triple-double in one season. She has two in her career, tying her with Nirelle Hampton for the most in school history.
Jordan Raines notched two double-doubles on the weekend, bringing her season total to seven.
Kay Lin Connolly racked up 19 digs in the three-set win at Air Force.
The Frogs totaled 60 digs alone in the Air Force match and lead the league with an average of 16.65 per set.
TCU improved its blocking, picking up 24 in eight sets played.
PRAIRIE VIEW A&M NOTABLES
Prairie View enters Tuesday night with a 9-16 overall record, however they are tops in the SWAC with a perfect 7-0 mark.
The Panthers saw a six-match winning streak come to an end with back-to-back losses over the weekend.
Sharonda Marshall is the leading attacker, averaging 2.57 kills per set. She also paces the team with 0.80 blocks per set.
Defensively, Jasmine Hales leads the team with an average of 3.67 digs per set.
As a team they are averaging 10.7 kills per set and 12.4 digs per set.
THE SERIES
The Frogs and the Panthers will be meeting for just the fifth time.
TCU has dominated the series, winning all four previous meetings.
The Frogs have yet to drop a set to Prairie View.
TCU is making its second trek to the home of the Panthers as it tallied a 3-0 win on Sept. 9, 2003.
The Frogs and the Panthers last met on Sept. 6, 2008 in Edinburg, Texas.
