
Volleyball Hosts New Mexico Friday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team will wrap up a three-match homestand Friday night when they host New Mexico at 7 p.m. The Horned Frogs and the Lobos enter the match tied for second place in the MWC with 2-1 records.
TCU NOTABLES
The Horned Frogs rebounded from a loss at San Diego State with two big conference victories at home against UNLV and Air Force last weekend.
TCU went 8-0 in league play at home last season and has now won 10 straight home conference matches.
The trio of Irene Hester, Kristen Hester and Christy Hudson had huge weekends with each tallying double-digit kills in both matches.
Against Air Force, the trio accounted for 35 kills and against UNLV, they tallied 42.
Irene Hester reached the 200 kill mark for the fourth straight season.
Yvonne Igodan got a start in the middle and set career highs with seven kills and four blocks.
NEW MEXICO NOTABLES
New Mexico is coming off back-to-back sweeps of UNLV and Air Force last weekend.
The Lobos have an identical conference record with the Frogs, but lost to San Diego State in three (TCU lost in five) and beat UNLV in three (TCU won in four).
Taylor Hadfield leads the team with an average of 3.12 kills per set.
Allison Buck paces the team with 3.72 digs per set.
Ashley Rhoades is the leading blocker with 0.95 per set.
Preseason all-conference member Jade Michaelsen guides the offense with an average of 9.75 assists per set.
THE SERIES
New Mexico leads the all-time series 7-5, but the series is tied a five since the Frogs joined the league in 2005.
The Frogs swept the season series in 2009.
TCU has won four of the last five meetings.
The Frogs have won four straight against the Lobos in Fort Worth and hold a 4-2 edge in matches played in Texas.
The last three meetings in Fort Worth have been five-set victories for the Frogs.
