
Volleyball Welcomes Utah And BYU This Weekend

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU volleyball team looks to continue its home dominance this weekend when they host Utah and BYU for two key league matches. Thursday's match against Utah will be televised live on The Mtn. and is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday's BYU match is set for 1 p.m.
OF NOTE:
Saturday's contest against BYU is set to begin at 1 p.m. Parking for the match will be limited due to the football game against Air Force later in the day. With that in mind, the marketing department is offering fans a free shuttle service beginning at 11:30 a.m. Parking and shuttle services will be available from the TCU parking lot on Sandage and Berry. The physical address for the lot is as follows: 3071 Sandage Avenue Fort Worth, Texas 76109.
TCU NOTABLES
TCU saw its three-match winning streak come to an end with a hard-fought loss at No. 16 Colorado State last Thursday.
The Frogs outkilled the Rams, 73-63, but fell three points shy of scoring the upset victory.
Meghan Horio set a career-high with 57 assists in the match, while Yvonne Igodan established a career-high with 10 kills.
TCU has won 11 straight league games at home.
At Wyoming, the Frogs were swept for just the second time this season and are still 9-2 in three-game matches in 2010.
The Horned Frogs continue to pace the league in digs, averaging 16.70 digs per set.
Irene Hester tops the league in kills per set (3.63), aces per set (0.41) and points per set (4.28).
UTAH NOTABLES
Utah enters the match in second place in the league standings with a 4-2 record and is 9-10 overall.
The Utes have won two straight, sweeping UNLV and Air Force last weekend.
Utah went through a slide that saw it drop five straight, but are 5-3 in their last eight.
Morgan Odale is the leading offensive threat, averaging 3.43 kills per set in addition to averaging 2.35 digs per set.
At the net, Danielle Killpack is the leading force, averaging 1.10 blocks per set.
Defensively, Keisha Fisher leads the pack with an average of 4.07 digs per set.
THE SERIES
Utah leads the all-time series 11-3, including an 8-3 mark since TCU joined the league in 2005.
The Frogs and the Utes split the series in 2009 with each team winning on their home court.
TCU is 3-4 against the Utes since 2007.
Utah is 4-2 all-time in Fort Worth.
BYU NOTABLES
The Cougars are hitting on all cylinders right now, entering this weekend with a five-match winning streak that has moved their overall record to 8-12 on the season, including a 3-3 record in the MWC.
All five wins have come via the sweep and three have come on the road.
Kiana Rogers guides the offense, averaging 9.32 assists per set. As a team, the Cougars are tallying an average of 12 kills per set.
Christie Carpenter leads the team with 2.71 kills per set.
At the net, Nicole Warner paces the team with 1.25 blocks per set.
In the back court, Kendalyn Hartsock is averaging 3.39 digs per set.
THE SERIES
BYU leads the all-time series 12-3, including an 8-3 mark since TCU joined the league in 2005.
TCU swept the season series in 2009.
The sweep included the Horned Frogs first-ever win over the Cougars in Provo.
