
Rifle Completes Sweep At Air Force

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU rifle team picked up its second straight victory over Air Force Sunday, 4,663-4,582. The dominating effort saw the squad post their second-highest aggregate total of the season after posting tallies of 2,309 in smallbore and 2,354 in air rifle. Sarah Beard set a new personal high with a 584 in smallbore.
The Frogs handed the Falcons a 2,309-2,265 defeat in smallbore on the strength of a solid effort on the firing line from the squad. Beard's personal best of 584 paced the team. Simone Riford followed closely with a 581. Erin Lorenzen posted a 577 and Emily Paper rounded out the counters with a 567 in the event.
In air rifle, Sarah Scherer got the Frogs rolling as she matched her personal best with a mark of 596. Riford followed in second with a 589. Beard's 585 was third for TCU and Caitlin Morrissey followed with a solid tally of 584.
TCU has won five straight matches as it improves to 6-1 on the season. The Frogs return to action on Saturday, January 23 at Nebraska. The Frogs defeated the Cornhuskers earlier this season at home.
