Raastad Shines At Hooters Collegiate Championships

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- TCU sophomore Rachel Raastad shot a 1-under-par 143 to finish second in Sunday action at the 2009 Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships.
Raastad had five birdies on the day. The Asker, Norway, native finished one stroke behind medalist Cydney Clanton of Auburn.
TCU shot a 607 and tied North Carolina for 11th place. The Horned Frogs will face Mississippi on Monday in the consolation bracket. The top-eight finishers in the 16-team field advanced to the championship bracket.
TCU's Brooke Beeler and Valentine Derrey placed in a tie for 37th and 42nd, respectively. Beeler carded an opening-round 74. Derrey's second-round 76 included four birdies.
With a 585, Florida earned the No. 1 seed with a one-shot victory over South Carolina.
