Raastad Keys Strong Day For Frogs

ALBUQUERQUE -- Keyed by an opening-round 69, Rachel Raastad is 4-under-par through 36 holes to lead TCU into third place after Saturday's opening two rounds of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.
With a 2-under 582, TCU is seven strokes behind leader Pepperdine. The Waves shot a 575 to hold a 5-shot lead over host New Mexico.
A sophomore from Asker, Norway, Raastad had five first-round birdies and a total of nine on the day. She is tied for fourth and just three strokes off the lead held by Oregon's Kendra Little.
Raastad posted the third sub-70 round of her career.
TCU senior Megan O'Donnell recorded the two-lowest rounds of her career with a 73 and 71, respectively, and is in a tie for eighth individually with a 2-under 144. The Houston native totaled seven birdies Saturday.
Brooke Beeler had an opening-round 72, while Valentine Derrey contributed a second-round 71.
