FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU equestrian head coach Gary Reynolds has announced the addition of former Horned Frog Kindel Huffman to the equestrian coaching staff on Monday.
"We are so fortunate to get Kindel as several other schools were trying to hire her at the same time we were," Reynolds said. "We are glad to have her back at TCU, she brings a passion for the program along with her outstanding ability to win."
Huffman, who was named the 2007 Bob Lilly TCU Athlete of the Year by the Greater Fort Worth Fellowship of Christian Athletes, closed out her senior season collecting a team-high five MVP accolades, while recording a perfect 11-0 record in horsemanship. The Norco, Calif., native also helped the Western team capture the 2008 Varsity Equestrian Western National Championship in only its second year as a program.
Overall, Huffman, whose younger sister Kelsey is a member on the squad this fall, owned the previous school record of 91 in Equitation on the Flat .
TCU, who opened the season going 1-1 at the Willis Invitational in Waco, will next be in action at Auburn on Sept. 18.
