
Frater Advances At IAAF World Championships

BERLIN, Germany - Former Flyin' Frog great Michael Frater advanced on Saturday into the semifinals of the men's 100 meters at the 12th annual IAAF World Championships.Frater, who is running for Jamaica, clocked a time of 10.09 seconds to finish second in heat No. 4 and ninth overall in quarterfinal action at Olympic Stadium. The former All-American, who opened the day winning his first round heat with a time of 10.30 seconds, will continue action on Sunday in the 100 meters.
Kim Collins was also in competition on Saturday, crossing the finish line in 10.20 seconds in the quarterfinals of the 100 meters, but failed to advance to the next round. The St. Kitts native clocked the fourth-fastest time in heat No. 3.
Six-time All-American Virgil Hodge will open competition on the track in the women's 100 meters on Sunday at Olympic Stadium.
