Young Advances At USA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Jessica Young advanced to the semifinals in the 100 meters on Thursday night at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.Young, a junior from South Carolina, clocked a personal-best time of 11.10 seconds to finish second in heat No. 2 and ninth overall in preliminary action at Hayward Field. The four-time All-American, who will also compete in the 200 meters in Eugene, will continue action on Friday.
Former Flyin' Frog great Khadevis Robinson also competed on Thursday in the men's 800 meters. Robinson crossed the finish line with a time of 1:48.07 to finish second overall in preliminary action.
"The race went alright today. The main thing was to get in the top three. Now I just need to focus and get prepared for tomorrow," said Robinson.
Both Young and Robinson will continue action tonight in Eugene.
