GARLAND, Texas -- TCU rising junior Allyson Ferguson was the top amateur in the Texas Women's Open at the Eastern Hills Country Club.
The Houston native carded a 3-over-par 143 (72-71) over 36 holes.
"I've really been working on my game, and my short game was the best it has ever been," Ferguson told the Star-Telegram. "I just played solid both days. This is my best tournament since high school, so I'm excited for school to start this fall."
Brooke Beeler, Ferguson's TCU teammate, was the third-place amateur with a 144.
Also representing the Horned Frogs were current players Prisela Campbell, Melissa Loh and Megan O'Donnell along with assistant coach Lori Tate.
Former TCU All-American Catherine Matranga tied for 25th with a 149.
