FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU will make its third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Women's Golf National Championship when play begins Tuesday in Owings Mills, Md.
The 27th-ranked Horned Frogs are appearing in a third straight NCAA National Championship for the first time since 1982-84. It is TCU's sixth trip in 15 seasons under head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin and the 11th overall in program history.
The 72-hole tournament, played at the Caves Valley Golf Club (par 72, 6,443 yards), is spread over four days. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com. Live video streaming of holes 16, 17 and 18 will take place on Thursday and Friday's third and fourth rounds.
TCU's tee times begin at 11:50 a.m. Central on Tuesday.
The Horned Frogs were 17th at last year's NCAA National Championship. An 11th-place result in 2007 was TCU's best finish since winning the national title in 1983.
The Frogs qualified for this year's event after tying for fourth out of 21 teams at the NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Ariz. It was TCU's third consecutive top-five regional finish.
In addition to TCU, the 24-team field at the 2009 NCAA National Championship includes Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Chattanooga, Denver, Duke, Georgia, LSU, Michigan State, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Pepperdine, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas, Tulane, UC Irvine, UCLA, USC, Virginia and Wake Forest.
TCU's lineup will include junior Valentine Derrey, sophomores Prisela Campbell and Allyson Ferguson and freshmen Brooke Beeler and Rachel Raastad.
Derrey will be in her third NCAA National Championship, while Campbell and Ferguson are in their second.
Derrey led TCU at the NCAA West Regional with an even-par 216 to tie for 13th individually. The Paris, France, native has a team-best 74.3 stroke average with five top-20 finishes, including three top-10 results.
Raastad, from Asker, Norway, is second on TCU with a 75.0 mark. She carded a final-round 70 at the NCAA West Regional.
Campbell, who shot a TCU record 66 at the LSU Golf Classic in March, has a 75.2 stroke average. She has played in nine of 10 tournaments this season, tied with Beeler for most on the team.
Beeler's freshman campaign has been highlighted by a second-place finish at October's Windy City Classic and a fourth-place result at the Mountain West Conference Championship. She carries a 75.3 stroke average.
Ferguson carded an opening-round 72 at the NCAA West Regional.
