
Breakdown of the 2009 NCAA Indoor Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - The following is a breakdown of the Flyin' Frogs that will compete at the 2009 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this week in College Station.
The Junior
Jessica Young
Coming off a conference championship, Young will look to make a name for herself in the women's 60 meters at nationals. Young, a junior from South Carolina, recorded a seasonal-best time of 7.26 seconds to win the Mountain West Conference. Her time when converted is currently ranked No. 11 in the NCAA and is the top mark in the MWC heading into the NCAA Championships. Young, who claimed All-America honors at the University of Richmond, broke Virgil Hodge's school record of 7.30 seconds in Colorado Springs, Colo., by clocking the second-fastest time ever recorded in Mountain West Conference Championship history.
The Relays
Men's 4x400
The unit which consists of Dell Guy, Jordan Pitts, Sean Zurko and Matthew Love heads to College Station after garnering sixth-place honors at the Iowa State NCAA Qualifier with an NCAA provisional qualifying and seasonal-best time of 3:07.50. Overall, the 4x400, which ranks No. 12 in the NCAA, collected first-place honors at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships.
Women's 4x400
The women's 4x400 quartet of Hayley Shade, Kishelle Paul, Jessica Clarke and Jessica Young qualified for nationals after blazing to the second-fastest time in the NCAA this past weekend at the Iowa State NCAA Qualifier. Overall, the unit clocked a seasonal-best and school record time of 3:34.63 to qualify for the NCAA Championships. The 4x400, which currently ranks No. 2 in the world standings, recently captured the conference championship for the fourth-consecutive season.
