FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU wide receiver Bart Johnson is a first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection for the second-straight season.
A former walk-on who has since earned a scholarship, Johnson is second on the Horned Frogs with 22 receptions for 287 yards (13.0 average). He has a reception in the last 17 games, TCU's longest current streak with at least one catch.
Johnson is a Dean's List student majoring in marketing. He serves on the TCU football team's Leadership Council and is a football team representative on TCU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Johnson is also chaplain of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
A junior from Brownwood, Texas, Johnson was honored last month by Score A Goal in the Classroom School Incentive Program as its 2009 Community Service Award recipient for his participation and support of the "Keeping the Reading Lamp Lit" reading initiative.
