
Volleyball Travels to Long Beach State for Tournament

FORT WORTH, Texas - Fresh off their school-record 24th victory of the season, the TCU volleyball team will wrap up regular season play at the Mizuno Thanksgiving Classic hosted by Long Beach State. The Horned Frogs will square off against the host school Friday at 2 p.m. (CST) and UC Irvine on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. (CST).

Head Coach Prentice Lewis won a national championship as a player at Long Beach State in 1993.
Three current members of the team hail from California. Christy Hudson, Meghan Horio and Megan Munce will get to play in front of family and friends this weekend.
Associate head coach Jason Tanaka is also from nearby Huntington Beach.
TCU NOTABLES
TCU rebounded from the loss at UNLV with an impressive come-from-behind victory over New Mexico.
The Frogs exceeded expectations and finished second in the league after being picked fifth.
This marks the second time in the program's history that the Frogs have finished second in a league (C-USA, 2004).
The Frogs win on Friday was their 24th, establishing a new school record.
Irene Hester finished the match with her sixth double-double of the season.
Christy Hudson led the Frog attack with 14 kills in the match.
It was the eighth time under Coach Lewis that the Horned Frogs rallied from an 0-2 deficit to record the record-breaking victory.
LONG BEACH STATE NOTABLES
The 49ers enter the weekend with an impressive 19-7 record and finished conference play with a 12-4 mark.
With their league record, the 49ers claimed their 10th league title.
Long Beach State boasts an impressive 11-2 mark on their home court.

The Anteaters fell a game shy of first place in the Big West, finishing second behind Long Beach State with an 11-5 record.
Overall, UC Irvine boasts an impressive 22-7 record.
The Anteaters have two victories over Top 25 teams this season, including a 3-2 win over No. 6 Cal to open the season.
UC Irvine is a combined 8-5 away from home, including a 3-1 mark on neutral courts.
As a team, UC Irvine averages 13.54 kills per game and 16.17 digs per set.
