ABOUT THE GAME
*No. 4 TCU will look to take another step in its goal of a Mountain West Conference championship when it travels to San Diego State.
*Dating back to last season, TCU has won 10 in a row and holds the nation's fourth-longest current winning streak (Florida 18, Iowa 13, Texas 12).
*The Frogs have their longest winning streak since a 13-game run over the final 10 contests in 2005 and the opening three games in 2006. At the time, it was the nation's longest winning streak.
*The Frogs are one of seven undefeated teams remaining in the nation.
*TCU has outscored its opponents 123-13 in its last three games while allowing just one touchdown in that stretch.
*TCU leads the nation in total defense (235.8 yards per game) while ranking third in scoring defense (11.1 points per game), sixth in passing defense (146.4 yards per game) and eighth in rushing defense (89.4 yards per game).
*The Frogs are averaging a school-record 447.0 yards per game in total offense.
*TCU has its highest ranking in the first week of November since its 1938 national championship season, when it was No. 1 in the Associated Press poll. The Frogs haven't been ranked this high since Oct. 15, 1956 when they were fourth.
*Since 2005, the Frogs are 22-1 in day games and 43-4 when playing on a Saturday.
GOOD STARTS
*At 8-0, TCU is off to its best start since 2003, when it won its opening 10 games.
*The Frogs are 8-0 for only the second time since their 1938 national championship season and the sixth time in their history (2003, 1938, 1935, 1929, 1920).
SERIES NOTES
*TCU is 4-0 all-time versus San Diego State. All four contests have taken place since the Frogs began Mountain West Conference play in 2005.
*While TCU has outscored San Diego State 93-7 in two games in Fort Worth, the two contests in San Diego have been close. TCU won 23-20 in 2005 before rallying from a 17-0 first-quarter deficit for a 45-33 victory in the 2007 regular-season finale.
*The Frogs and Aztecs never played during the three seasons (1996-98) both teams were members of the Western Athletic Conference.
HOME AWAY FROM HOME
*TCU is 4-0 over the last four seasons at Qualcomm Stadium. Saturday marks the fifth-straight year the Frogs have played at the home of the Aztecs and Chargers.
*In addition to regular-season wins over San Diego State in 2005 and 2007, TCU posted Poinsettia Bowl victories over Northern Illinois (37-7) in 2006 and Boise State (17-16) in 2008.
WHERE'S LT?
*With the Chargers playing Sunday at the New York Giants, Saturday's game will mark the first time in the five years of traveling to San Diego that former TCU great LaDainian Tomlinson will not be on the Frogs' sideline.
ROAD WARRIORS
*Since 2003, TCU's 30-13 record (.698) in road and neutral-site games ranks seventh nationally.
