
Beeler's 70 Keys TCU Surge

FARRAGUT, Tenn. -- Brooke Beeler's 70 helped TCU climb seven spots into a tie for 10th after Saturday's second round of the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championships.
The 36th-ranked Horned Frogs shot a 295 to improve their score by 19 strokes over Friday's opening round.
Beeler's 2-under-par included three birdies. Her 70 tied for the second-lowest score on the day and was six shots better than her 76 Friday. She's tied for ninth individually, five strokes off the pace set by Louisville's Sara-Maude Juneau.
TCU's Valentine Derrey had a team-high five birdies Saturday en route to a 73.
Prisela Campbell and Melissa Loh both carded 76s for the Horned Frogs.
Host Tennessee is at 574 and holds an 8-stroke lead over Louisville. TCU is at 609.
