
Hughes A Midseason All-American; 12 Frogs All-MWC

CLEVELAND -- Led by Jerry Hughes, a first-team Midseason All-American, 12 TCU players have been named to Phil Steele's Midseason All-Mountain West Conference team.
Joining Hughes on the first-team All-America defensive line are Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh, UCLA's Brian Price and Oklahoma's Jeremy Beal. Hughes has 7 1/2 tackles for loss, including six sacks, in the opening five games for No. 8 TCU (5-0, 1-0). He's third on the Horned Frogs with 27 tackles.
Hughes, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, punt returner Jeremy Kerley, tailback Joseph Turner and linebacker Daryl Washington represent the Horned Frogs on Phil Steele's first-team Midseason All-MWC team.
TCU and BYU tied for the most first-team selections at five. The Horned Frogs' 12 overall picks trail only Utah (14).
TCU quarterback Andy Dalton, offensive tackle Marshall Newhouse and cornerback Rafael Priest are second-team choices.
Linebacker Tank Carder, defensive end Wayne Daniels, placekicker Ross Evans and wide receiver Jimmy Young are third-team honorees from TCU.
